Wish me Luck!

I am going to try to get my reentry permit today. It is in a faroff land, somewhere still in Tokyo, but nowhere near anything I've been to. And I have to take a PRIVATE train line. What does that mean? I don't think it's actually private.. I think that PRIVATE here is code for "expensive." I know that it's like double the price, but can I actually take it? Or maybe, quite serendipitously, it is PRIVATE for me only. Because, you see, I do make many offerings to the traffic gods. My first child shall be named Stoplight McGee.

And he/she will hate me O.O but have the fastest commuting time this side of NASCAR.

Hope?

So, I talked with the people at the Oversea Liaison Center, and they say that I need to look over my rental agreement. If it says that it is meant to be quiet by 10:00PM, which I think it does, which it isn't, then I have basis for terminating my stay here and having my prepaid rent returned for January. So, the last month could potentially be somewhere else- yay! I'm hoping I can stay with a family- I think they'd be much more likely to take someone in for one month versus five. Let's hope, shall we?

Also, getting excited for my trip this weekend! Going to Mashiko to see the pottery! I hope I actually can meet up with the people I'm meant to, I hope, I hope! Otherwise, I'll just hang around Ueno and go to the zoo. Either way, you'll get pictures. Though it will be Sunday, so it may take me a bit, especially because of TESTS. Although... apparently my drama test is week after next and I've been wrongly complaining about it being next week. Oh, dear. Whatever, only FOUR days of testing- sorry for the EXAGGERATION. Oh my goodness, I may have been a little sarcastic.

Obviously did not collapse upon return. What is the world coming to? How shall we survive these vicious lies? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

Let's find out!

Whoa, random 90's reference. I so dated myself. Anyway...

Oh, and I won two free coffees at the convenience story because I did the silly raffle thing because my mom told me to and obviously I just do whatever the heck ANYONE tells me to do so there you have it I wonder if they taste any good. Ha, run on!

*Because I'll Probably Collapse as Soon as*

I get home. Man, I wish I could skip my next class, but she's giving us the material to study for the midterm, so I cannot! Hopefully, we'll get out early again, since it's another student presentation. Oh, to be home by 5:30 again! Then, I could study my kanji, which is what I do every night when I am watching tv on my computer, btw (kanji studying requires no brain or eyes, only the hand practicing the stroke order for hours), and go to sleeeeeep. Or imagine myself asleep as I lie awake cursing my noisy neighbors/people two stories up.

I'm going to go talk with the Overseas Liaison Center to see if there's anyway I can change my housing arrangements. My apartment is so noisy, all the time, and it isn't just the exchange students. Last night, someone spent thirty minutes blow drying his or, more likely, her hair from 11:30 to midnight-ish. I wanted to take that blow drier and throw it under a running faucet- take out all the electricity in the building and put an end to all that loud music too! But, they'd probably arrest me, and I might accidentally electrocute myself. Must come up with more practical evil scheme. Hm...

I'm mostly trying to distract myself because my back hurts a great deal today. I'm not sure why it's been so bad this weekend, though it's only Tuesday, I guess. I think it might have to do with not getting enough sleep. Oh, just so you know, I do in fact use earplugs- the noise is so loud that it penetrates my orange, malleable beauties. Sob!

Hey, nifty, apparently CreateSpace, one of the sponsors of Nanowrimo, is "is offering all NaNoWriMo 2008 winners a free proof copy of [their] manuscript[s] in paperback book form. They'll even cover basic postage!" Sweet! I can't believe that it is real, until I see it, though, because that seems like a lot of $$$/there's no yen sign on the Japanese computer in the computer lab... what the Dunkin Donuts? Anyway, I'm about 10,000 words away.

Did I explain what Nanowrimo is? I think I linked it and assumed ya'll'd get busy.. Anyway, it is NAtional NOvel WRiting MOnth (NANOWRIMO, seee?). You spent the whole month of November working on a novel/50,000 words of a novel. But you only have from the 1st to the 30th- gah! So, it's a race to write! This is my third year but WILL BE my second SUCCESSFUL year. Which means, I do have a book written from last year sitting about on my computer- still mostly in need of editing, though I did a HUGE amount this September.

Anyway, I have three days of midterms for Japanese next week plus a Japanese test, which means for 12 of the 15 hours of Japanese class time next week, I'll be test-taking. Also, drama test next week- gah! One day will be FOUR HOURS of tests. Therefore, please understand my busyness and forgive the craptacularly crappy quality of my ness this week. Trying to finish Nanowrimo with midterms is death- plus the outing this Sunday (which I must do, you see, because I haven't been out much the past two weeks and I need to BREATHE) so gah!

I thought of this poem:

We'll Go No More A-roving
So, we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving,
And the moon be still as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
And the heart must pause to breathe,
And love itself have rest.

Though the night was made for loving,
And the day returns too soon,
Yet we'll go no more a-roving
By the light of the moon.

Lord Byron (1788-1824)

*The Quickest Blog Entry in the World!*

I hope. Gah, I need to get to bed! Anyway, not much occurred today in the life of me. I had a quiz? My professor for Japanese Lit told me I was a great student randomly out of the blue (I am redundant when I rush... oh, an excuse!). Nice? I am too cynical, I think, and come up with other explanations. There you have it.

It is cold! My hands are numb. I need to figure out my heater, if it does in fact work as a heater as well as an air conditioner. I hope so... br!

I'm almost on ReBoot Season 3, aka the ANGST transforMATION. It's all light hearted in season one, still comedic but with serious things occurring in season two, and then... the finale. Whoa. Now, you are inspired to watch it? It takes very little time, apparently. Then, I need to either finish Touching Evil (American with Jeffrey Donovan) and be sad that it was cancelled or some other show that was probably cancelled, as my favorites generally are. Except Burn Notice- holla for season three purchased!

Still reading Time Machine- nearly done. Um, Nanowrimo going along well. Should be done by next week. Yay? My birthday's a few days away and I don't think I'll even tell anyone v.v But it's okay, I guess? Too angsty! Gah! I sound like ReBoot season three!

Good night, my lovelies!

P.S. I thought Mutts today was funny, and no, this doesn't mean I'm not busy- it takes three seconds to read, you crazies!:

Does it Look this Way on YOUR Computer?

As in, crappy? Holy smokes, the new blog layout looks terrible on the computer at school! Maybe that's why no pretty comments appeared- it must look awful on yours as well- blub blub v.v I shall drown my sorrows in a fish bowl.

Yet my drive is not put in reverse/neutral/park, and we voyage onward! Except, I'm not entirely positive I have anything at all to say. Mostly, I wanted to apologize for writing nothing yesterday and offer some sort of explanation as to what occurred on that fateful day.

Basically, I had a lot of homework and a quiz, so I was working on that, rather than write to you, my dearies. I think the quiz went well. The homework was at least done, and it is graded on completion- hoorah!

ReBoot episodes are 15-20 minutes each, so I've plowed through the first season and to the season two episodes where it suddenly gets AMAZING. I hope you are now drawn to watching it in all its 90s CGI glory. Super excited for the Rebirth! Or, as we nerds like to say, the ReBoot Reboot! Ha!

I'll try to do something so I can write about something as soon as possible. This weekend, I plan to go wayyyyy out in the boondocks to a pottery village, so I hope to take pictures so that you may precariously live through me. I think that might be the wrong word. No spell check on this computer either, so all the typos will have to be forgiven. What a lame way to apologize O.O It is skill, man, and you are impressed.

Or not?

Motto?!?!

Apparently the Washington state motto is "Eventually" in Chinook Wawa. Ha! What a bad motto v.v

Also, another tagline for ReBoot seems to be "This isn't the Supercomputer, Bob!" Poor Bob.

*And I Think to Myself*

What a wonderful world! Etc. etc.

Random Louis Armstrong singing in my head. In any case, nothing much occurred today in the life of me. The sun must have risen at some point set at some point, but I only left the room for an hourish in the evening to get a hamburger because I was feeling rather protein deficient. Probably because I didn't have any sort of meat all week. It can do strange things to you, you know, if you don't either have meat, or fish, other fleshyness, without filling the void with nuts or... other proteiny non-fleshies. I am the paragon of scientists, as you can plainly see, and a brilliant writer to boot. I must go throw my typewriter from a cliff now and burn my abacus.

I have found some walking tours for decently cheap-ish (not really, but you know, I'm trying to be chipper and bad prices just do not support a chipper demeanor) around the Tokyo area. I am thinking that I will book two for the weekend after next, which is a three-day sort of break, and go to Yanaka and Tokyo Tower or Odaiba. There's also a tour at the fish market, which sounds lovely, except that you have to take this sushi-making class and I just want to eat the damn fish. Oh, I cursed. In the context, I think you will find that it was very Necessary. Necessary enough to be capitalized, at the very least.

Pick out a tour for me!:

In Tokyo, mind you... As fun as a tour of Hiroshima would be (fun? really? Did I just use that word to describe a site of a nuclear bomb dropping?)- and it would be fun, despite the sad history, I cannot travel there. Well, I could, but it would require a flight, and I haven't the money. Or I have, but I'd rather use it for random crap. And there you have it, see?

Random crap= souvenirs for you, my lovelies. Did I just call your gifts "crap"? You see I am verbally diarrhetic today a la Bridget Jones. Though I suppose this is not verbal. Read it aloud, my friend, and do me a great favor.

ReBoot season one is just hilarious. I always remembered it as the worst season, but I think that may be because it is overly cheesy. But I do love cheesy (so does Kate Winslet in The Holiday), so it is making me very happy.

Tomorrow, I think I shall try to see Paco to Maho no Ehon. It is a Japanese film and subtitless, but I may attempt it. It looks very pretty and will soon leave theatres. If you want to know the director, who also did Kamikaze Girls (Shimotsuma Monogatari), please watch this short video:

And here is the trailer (no subtitles, sorry!) for the movie I may see tomorrow:

If I have time, I'll offer a lame-o translation. Wow, that sure gives you hope for the future, doesn't it? Anyway, it depends on whether I get enveloped in my Nanowriming or not. I'm nearly done, so I may just sit down and do the whole thing tomorrow. Whoa!
