It is difficult to write anything other than a novel when you are writing a novel in a month. In any case, have successfully written fifth novel as part of Nanowrimo and for independent study.
Which really begs the question, what has become of these novels?
Mostly, they just sit in wait. I imagine until someone who can actually edits takes them up.
The truth is, there is absolutely nothing I hate more than editing my own work. I used to have a beta reader when I wrote angsty fanfiction. Those were the days, my friend. (Imagine it cold and I am smoking from a pipe and wearing a fedora)
In any case, I will be trying to write more, especially about the random things I am reading.
At the moment, I am rereading Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami (I don't like it very much so I only read it when I go to the gym), Underground, also by Murakami (I've had the flu and read this quite a bit while waiting to puke- ah, romance!), Best New Zombie Tales, Vol 1 on my new Kindle (only on bus-- the first story was kind of lame, but I remain hopeful!), and Cadaver Dogs by Rebecca Loudon, which is a poetry chapbook (I read this when I make myself think because it is lovely and deserves my attention). Oh, I'm also rereading Bridget Jones's Diary but I'm doing that in secret because I don't want the other books to know I'm cheating on them with pleasure reading that requires no thinking whatsoever because I've read it at least five times.
Finishing the quarter and am thus in frazzled mind-state. Will most likely somnamble into ocean and drown. C'est la vie.

Girl, you need to learn to edit. The first draft is the easy part. I just finished my novel in NaNoWriMo too and I can't wait to get into the editing. It's like cutting a diamond - until you do it only has potential.
