*Still Sick, and Nothin' ta Write Abou'*

It's true. Oh, btw, the only way I can sound unsick and disgusting on the phone is to use a Southern accent, so that's what I've been doing. Very exciting. I'm sure you are jumping out of your seat, thrusting your hands skyward, and shouting "weeeee!" at the top of your lungs as I type this. Mellow down, gentle reader, for there is more to tell.

I watched this movie:

It's trying to win best short at the Academy Awards, which are a long way away, so you should watch it and give it a five star rating, because it blew my mind! Honestly, I kept wanting to think the narrative was lame-o but it was amazing. The twist even more so. It's beautiful as well! I just loved this, I wish they would use that as an intro and make a full-length film. But then, maybe not, because it is PERFECT.

I'll probably watch a few more of the hopefuls, because it doesn't take long, and they put a lot of effort into it, and I'm sick and ain't goin' nowhere, so I's mights as wells. Random pluralization. What the hey-ho?

Anyway, Nanowrimo began, and I'm about 20% through. I'll probably get a few more chapters done today because, again, what else am I gonna do? Reread The Goat and make notes on the stage directions and things Albee references. Then do a comparison to Aristotle's definition of Greek comedy/tragedy and see if it fits. Very exciting/not. I think I should probably wash my face. I just got up an hour ago (see, sleeping 14ish hours means you're HELLA SICK, so no judging). I mean, one judge and I'll take YOUR temperature, not orally. Rawr.

You should adopt a kitten or cat. Seriously, there are so many in the Seattle area (unless you aren't in Seattle, then get her/him in the Phoenix area or whatnot) that just want some lovin'. Like a spoonful, at least. Ha. I love that band.

They sing one of my favorite songs, Darling Be Home Soon:

Lyrics:

Come
And talk of all the things we did today
Here
And laugh about our funny little ways
While we have a few minutes to breathe
Then I know that it's time you must leave

But darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

And now
A quarter of my life is almost past
I think I've come to see myself at last
And I see that the time spent confused
Was the time that I spent without you
And I feel myself in bloom

So darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

------ instrumental break ------

Darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

Go
And beat your crazy head against the sky
Try
And see beyond the houses and your eyes
It's ok to shoot the moon

So darling
My darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
My darling be home soon
It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
For the great relief of having you to talk to

I love that the love he feels in this instance isn't even focused on the sexual. He just wants her to talk to. That's really sweet. Love love love this song. I hope you enjoy the vids. I'll post more as the day goes on, since that's what I'm mostly doing.

Edit: I also watched this movie, which is much longer, but equally AMAZING. The type of animation, silhouette animation, I think, is lovely, and the story certainly sounds much like the works of the authors on which it is based, Poe and Verne.
